Rebeca Monasterio García, born in Barcelona, began her flamenco journey at the age of seven in the peñas flamencas of her neighborhood, Sant Ildefons, in Cornellà de Llobregat. She later deepened her training with renowned artists such as Antonio Canales, Juan de Juan, Farruquito, and La Chana, among others.
By the age of 16, she was already performing in Barcelona’s most prestigious tablaos, including Tablao Cordobes, Tablao de Carmen, and Los Tarantos, where she continues to work today, as well as on various stages across Spain.Flamenco in Barcelona
For years, she has balanced her stage career with teaching, establishing her own flamenco schools in Tarragona and Barcelona, where she has trained and launched new flamenco talents in Catalonia. She has also given masterclasses worldwide, including a notable participation in the prestigious Festival del Cante de las Minas in Murcia alongside Farruquito.
She has shared the stage with artists such as La Fabi, Montse Cortés, Juan de Juan, Torombo, Juan Ramírez, Luis de Luis, Antonio Canales, Israel Fernández, and Rafael Riqueni, among others.
Currently, she is a regular performer at Barcelona’s top tablaos, including El Cordobés, Tablao de Carmen, and Los Tarantos, as well as in tablaos across Spain. In addition to her performing career, she has created and presented several original productions, such as De pura cepa, Pa mi Alegría, and Alma de mujer, all of which have sold out and achieved great success in theaters across Catalonia.
Rebeca is also the founder and director of RefugiArte, a project dedicated to creating a global flamenco community, offering diverse classes ranging from dance to instrumentation.
Her latest production, ÉXODO: Flamenco desde la raíz, premiered with great success at the prestigious Sona Flamenco 2024 festival in Tarragona, selling out all tickets.
