José Viñas was born in La Línea De La Concepción (Cádiz), a city where at the age of 11 he began his career in flamenco at the School of the dancer David Morales.
Later, he continued his education in the professional dance conservatories of Malaga and Seville. He was awarded a scholarship at the “Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation”, in addition to training with great figures. Flamenco in Barcelona
Different awards recognize his merit on stage. With only 15 years he won the second prize in the national contest “Estepona cantaora y bailaora”, getting a year later to win first place in the same contest.
It was in 2010 when he was proclaimed Best Young Artist of the “Concurso de Arte Flamenco ciudad de Ubrique”. Subsequently, in 2015 he managed to be the representative of Cadiz in the contest “Desencaja” of the Junta De Andalucía. That same year he gets the First Prize in the contest “Carmen Ledesma” in the city of Seville.
In 2021 he was awarded the prize for “Outstanding Dancer” in the Choreographic Contest of the district of Tetuan, Madrid.
The dancer has crossed borders both performing and teaching courses in countries around the world: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Bosnia, Finland and Argentina.
He is part of the cast of Jesús Carmona's show “El Salto”, with which he is currently on tour. In addition, he is a regular in theaters and tablaos of great importance. He currently lives in Madrid where he combines his artistic facet with his teaching work.
